Tiniest Park in the world

We at Civilized Wildlife have a soft spot for Portland, Oregon. We’ve spent a lot of time in the rose city taking in all that it has to offer and exploring its famous and infamous spots (we’ve got a great tattoo guy up there).

A friend just reminded us of something so small and quaint that’s it’s easy to miss. The above pic is of Mill Ends Park. It sits modestly on a bustling city street providing passerbys with a smidge of whimsy and beauty.

Let us not forget that in many aspects of life: Less is ALWAYS more!

Thanks Dave

Freud

by on May.02, 2012, under learning, uncool

So you know Freud right? Sigmund Freud THE father of psychoanalytic therapy, an Austrian, identifier of electra and edipus complexes, cocaine addict. Well, he was and still is a very important figure in psychology. And yes, he had some good ideas-at the time. Not so good now though…like how he identified women as suffering from “hysteria” and what caused hysteria is hysterical! He suggested that hysteria was due to a woman’s uterus roaming around her body causing problems.
Hahaha. I wonder if he was high when he came up with that one?!

May Day May Day

by on May.01, 2012, under Uncategorized

May Day was originally a pagan holiday but now it’s a salute to workers. We should all get a day off! Look at all the diligent commuters…
